Dear Families,

Jennifer Rehn Principal

There are many dedicated professionals at Wagner who are committed to ensure your child’s success. Over the years, as both a teacher and an administrator, I have been asked by families what they can do to help support the school’s efforts. Some things that you can do include:

  • Help your child set up a homework location and schedule. Research has shown that students who diligently complete homework are consistently successful. Each night we expect students read for a minimum of 45 minutes. Once this schedule is in place, help your child stick to it. The school is selling planners for $4.00. They can be purchased from your child’s homeroom teacher. Our planner has proven to be a great organizational tool.
  • For those families who use the internet regularly, sign up for our school list serve. Instructions as to how to do this are included in your child’s first day packet. Once signed up, all notices and announcements that are sent home via backpack mail will be automatically e-mailed to you.

Remember that we are here to help. The staff of Wagner Middle School is committed to providing your child with the best education and will do everything possible to make your experience at Wagner Middle School a positive one. Although I want to make myself available to you, my first priority is to the students and the staff when they are in the building. For this reason, I am in classrooms every morning from 8:30 - 10:30 AM. The best time to get in touch with the assistant principals or me is before 8 AM or after 3 PM. We generally do not return phone calls until after 3 PM, unless it is an emergency. A crucial contact person for families is Marilyn DeNicola, our Parent Coordinator, who is available to help you with any questions and concerns. She can be reached at (347) 563 - 5121.

Sincerely,
Jennifer Rehn
Principal
